Founded in 2018, Melanated Passports is an exciting travel company that is committed to curating exclusive travel experiences for new and experienced travelers. Our specialty is customizing group trips that include off-the-beaten-path excursions, instead of the traditional tourist sites, and providing opportunities to connect with locals to learn about the authentic culture of a destination.
We pride ourselves in visiting destinations that are both Afrocentric and places where melanated people are not prevalent. We believe that real travel means a full immersion in local culture that includes tasting local cuisine, exploring local neighborhoods, visiting local hangout spots, and disconnecting from the traditional high-traffic tourist areas. Our unique approach to travel has been very successful as we continue to have clients who love the trips and repeatedly join us.
We’ve expanded without any marketing and that’s a testament to our unique travel experiences, word-of-mouth, and the amazing travel community we’ve built online that currently has over 48,000 members. We pride ourselves in including melantated history as a significant part of our trips and engaging with locals that transparently share our struggles and values even if we don’t speak the same language.
