Melanated Passports was founded in 2017, and in 2018, we began hosting local meetups, which evolved into the community we are today.

We’ve expanded without any marketing and that’s a testament to our unique travel experiences, word-of-mouth, and the amazing travel community we’ve built online that currently has over 

51,000 members. We pride ourselves in including melanated history when possible as a significant part of our trips and engaging with locals that transparently share our struggles and values even if we don’t speak the same language.
